Silent Hill Slot
While the Silent Hill franchise appears to be on hiatus after the cancellation of Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hills, fans will be able to get their psychological survival horror fix in another format: a new video slot machine from Konami’s gambling division.
「サイレントヒル」 が、純増3.0枚のアクセルAT最終形として、ついに完成。「最恐×最強」 のパチスロ、ここに登場. The Silent Hill Pachi slot machine was developed by Takasago, a subsidiary of Konami Japan and was released on October 5th 2015. The machine is exclusive to Japan with no plans to release it elsewhere. The machine's storyline is based on that of Silent Hill 2 and features both characters and creatures from the game. Silent Hill: Downpour The Hyper Blaster is a weapon obtained after the UFO Ending of Silent Hill. Alternatively, the player can plug in one of the Konami Justifiers in the P2 slot. It will appear in Harry Mason's inventory at the start of the game in the cafe. The NEW Silent Hill Return slot by Konami. Based off the video game, this slot has several features. The base game is a 5x4 reelset that pays any way. Silent Hill symbols are found on all reels. Blue and Red ghost symbols randomly appear on reels and move up one row with each spin.
Konami announced the new Silent Hill slot cabinet — described in a press release as a “for-wager slot experience” — on Tuesday, ahead of next week’s Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. It’s part of a new video slot cabinet that features a 49-inch, 4K “Ultra HD” display. That new cabinet will launch with multiple Silent Hill-themed slots games: Silent Hill Return, based on Silent Hill 3, and Silent Hill Escape, based on Silent Hill Downpour. “Dual series launch themes leverage thrilling scenes, sounds, and characters from Konami’s recognized entertainment legacy,” Konami said.
The gambling division at Konami has toyed with hundreds of themes for gambling machines over the years, including slots based on owned franchises like Castlevania, Contra, and Frogger. Silent Hill is simply the next Konami property being leveraged for gambling purposes — and why not? Who wouldn’t be drawn to the prospect of big Pyramid Head payouts?
You can check out a trailer (clearly aimed at gambling machine buyers) for Konami’s new Silent Hill slots above. But but warned it doesn’t come close to matching the trailer for Konami’s erotic pachinko machine based on Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. A closer look at the new slots cabinet is below.

These are uncertain times with the continued spread of COVID-19 across the globe, but this pandemic couldn’t stand in the way of Lucio Battista, a longtime fan of Silent Hill, who spent his entire life-savings on a slot machine inspired by the franchise. This generous charity thereby resulted in Konami announcing it will be remaking the first three games in the series.
“I’m feeling pretty ecstatic right now,” said Battista, who was looking over his bank account and staring at his now-non-existent wealth. “Even though I’m completely broke and without a job, I know that I’ve made a lot of fans happy right now by financing not one, but three new Silent Hill games. Can somebody pat me on the back for this amazing deed?”
We then proceeded to tap him a few times on his back, only for him to snap into in a weeping panic shortly thereafter. “Oh my god!” the impoverished man exclaimed. “What have I done? I should have stopped myself from spending everything I had. I’m bound to pay dearly for this when I break the news to my wife and kids back home.”
It’s been a long eight years since Silent Hill: Downpour, the last notable entry in the series, but the news of remakes on the way is sure to make fans scream in joy. Nobody asked or even wanted a Silent Hill slot machine, but thank goodness for whoever approved that ridiculous project because we wouldn’t be where we are today without it.
Sure, we’ll probably find a lifeless Battista hanging from his ceiling by the end of the week, but his incredibly generous gift to the series will live on for years to come. Should the man go through with that unfortunate fate, we hope Konami would be respectful enough to give him praise in the ending credits for each title. Either way, they should probably thank him regardless!
At press time, bewildered fans and reporters at a press conference were left scratching their heads in frustration and anger after Konami announced the upcoming remakes would be exclusively developed as slot machines instead of for home video game consoles as everyone had previously assumed.
